
The Wynyard Village Neighbourhood Watch is a community-driven, volunteer-led initiative where residents work together with local Police and Security to reduce crime, anti-social behaviour, and the fear of crime.
It involves neighbours looking out for each other fostering community spirit, sharing information and reporting suspicious activity to the relevant parties.
Key Aspects
- Purpose: To create a safer, more secure community by improving home security and increasing vigilance.
- Structure: Primarily run by volunteers supported by the WRA, Police and Neighbourhood Watch Network in England and Wales.
- Activities: Sharing Information, crime prevention advice, fostering good relationships between the Community, working with the police
- Operation: The ‘Wynyard Village Neighbourhood Watch covers South of the A689 irrespective of town boundaries. It is a mirror scheme to that operating on the North of the A689.
- Residents’ registration: Email addressed to villagewatch26@gmail.com Include mobile number, name and proof of address (utility bill or Wynyard community charge).
- Day to Day Communication: WhatsApp Group (details supplied on registration)

- Neighbourhood Watch is not a vigilante group; its role is to act as the ‘eyes and ears’ of the community, not to directly confront criminals or those committing anti-social behaviour.
- As with all WhatsApp groups, the information you share can be viewed by all members.
- Details of members will NOT be shared with any external organisations.
