PLANNING Applications
Since March 2023 and the impact created by 23/0261/OUT, Wynyard Residents Association has taken a leading role in challenging Stockton Borough Council (SBC), Cameron Hall Developments (CHD) and JOMAST. This was at the request of over a 100 residents at an extraordinary WRA meeting held at Wynyard Hall.
The WRA Action Group (WRAAG) was formed by a number of residents willing to commit time and resource to plan a way forward to challenge this submission.
Since then, we have uncovered a significant amount of information predominantly through freedom of information (FOI) requests but also reviewing the, in some cases, limited information appending the applications which has opened up many avenues of further investigation.
The documentation used and referenced by parties involved include but not limited to the following, some of which are under review or in one case don’t exist:-
- Wynyard Masterplan
- Wynyard Garden Village Vision Statement
- Wynyard Village (Stockton) Neighbourhood Plan
- Wynyard Park (Hartlepool) Neighbourhood Plan
- SBC Local Plan
SBC have recently announced their intention to review the Local Plan which will set out the development strategy for Wynyard for the next 10 years.

Consultation with residents, associations and parish councils is paramount to agreeing a way forward that both fulfils the requirements and limits overdevelopment.
The WRA have offered to work closely with both the Parish Councils to develop the Neighbourhood Plans which will feed into the Local Plan to ensure that our voices are heard and our concerns captured that reflects our respective visions for Wynyard Village and Wynyard Park.
A steering group is in the process of being formulated which will be led by the Parish Councils which aligns to their statutory obligations in preparing, writing and owning these documents.
