Congratulations to the Wynyard Residents Events Team for a wonderful Christmas experience on the Village Green.
Having so many residents come together was an emotional experience. It was everything that represented the Spirit and Message of Christmas.
Our busy lives don’t always allow us the time to move outside of our immediate family and friendship groups, but this provided us with a short time where we could celebrate the Wynyard community and illustrate why so many people see the village as a lovely place to live. It has beautiful homes and beautiful scenery, but this also shows that we have a beautiful community.
Although there was no charge for the event and the refreshments, donations were welcomed.
Over £600 was raised for the Billingham SVP group, and the money has already been used to provide Christmas food hampers for the most needy in our immediate area.
Only one more event, this year, for the team.
The Luminary Event is scheduled for Christmas Eve, when we hope that Wynyard will be “lit-up” by every home displaying a special candle at their door.
Packs are already available at the Co-op in the village, and team members will be selling them outside the shop for two days next weekend. Please support this really worthwhile event.
Funds raised will be donated to the charity “Headlight” that supports individuals and families touched by the devastating impact of suicide.
